Subscriber-Supported Sims Site Hosting

We are already providing free hosting services for several Sims sites here on Moon Sims, and are happy that we can provide this service to the Sims community. However, our server has reached its limit and cannot add any more sites.

We do have a solution, however.

It really hurts to have to turn down requests for help from Sims webmasters who are encountering difficulties with their current web hosts.

FAQ: Does this mean the sites currently hosted by Moon Sims are planning to become pay sites? Answer: No. We hope to be able to continue what we are now doing with Moon Sims and all the hosted sites, so for as long as our donated server resources can cope with the load we will continue to offer free hosting for all those wonderful sites.

To solve this problem forever, we are setting up a new service called SimsHost which will essentially be a collective pay site supported by very low subscriber fees. The site hosting service will offer free, no-hassle hosting for Sims sites, and take care of user billing and server maintenance.

Users will be able to use a single login to access all the hosted sites, and will enjoy the most responsive web servers on the net. They, as well as the webmasters and object creators, will no longer have to fear that excessive hosting costs will force their favorite web sites off line because the system is designed to be scalable -- users' fees, although quite small, are tied to the amount of server resources that they use.

Our projected date for opening the doors to SimsHost is June 1, 2002. Development is proceeding faster than we had anticipated!
