It is possible to change the default pajama and swimsuits of each individual sim in your game. To do this we must first understand the structure of a default daytime skin's filename.

1. Let's take our skin file example and break it down into its parts.

B001FAfitlgt_daytimeoutfit.bmp

•B001 is the 3d body mesh that this skin uses [the numbers will vary with each skin]

•FA tells us that this skin is to be used on a Female Adult [MA for Male adult, FC for Female Child, MC for Male Child]

•fit tells us that this skin is used on the fit body skeleton [skn is for skinny, fat is for fat, chd is for child]

•lgt is the skin tone the clothing file will be applied to, which in this case would be light [med is the medium skin tone, drk is the dark tone]

•_daytimeoutfit is the actual name of the clothing skin. The person who made the skin can name this part to whatever they want, but it must always be preceded by an underscore.

•.bmp is the filetype which is a bitmap image. All skins must be of this filetype for them to work properly.

2. Now that you understand a daytime skin's filename, we can move on to changing the default swimsuits and pajamas. I am assuming you have found a suitable swimsuit or pajama you would like your sim to wear. Now all we have to do is rename that swimsuit or pajama file so that the game will recognize it as the default for a particular sim when they sleep or swim.

3. To rename a pajama skin so that your sim will wear it to bed, find the filename of the daytime outfit your sim wears. If the daytime outfit is named B001FAfitlgt_daytimeoutfit.bmp, you would rename the pajama skin to PajamaFlgt_daytimeoutfit.bmp As you can see, the pajama filename follows a simple structure of:

•Pajama
•F or M [Female or Male]
•lgt, med, drk [light, medium or dark skintone]
•followed by an underscore and the name of the daytime outfit.

•This means that any sim that wears B001FAfitlgt_daytimeoutfit.bmp will wear PajamaFlgt_daytimeoutfit.bmp to bed.

4. To rename a swimsuit skin so that your sim will wear it while in the pool, find the filename of the daytime outfit your sim wears. If the daytime outfit is B001FAfitlgt_daytimeoutfit.bmp, then you would rename the swimsuit skin to UFFitlgt_daytimeoutfit.bmp. Custom swimsuits follow this file protocol:

•U [for underwear or swimsuit]
•F or M [Female or Male]
•Fit, Skn, Fat or Chd [Fit, Skinny, Fat, or Child]
•lgt, med, drk [light, medium or dark skintone]
•followed by an underscore and the name of the daytime outfit.

•This means that any sim that wears B001FAfitlgt_daytimeoutfit.bmp will wear UFFitlgt_daytimeoutfit.bmp in the pool or hot tub.

Note:: You can change the default pajama for a sim at any time you wish, but custom swimsuits will only work if the correctly named files are in your skins directory before you create a sim wearing the daytime outfit that has a custom swimsuit. If you have a sim that was wearing that daytime outfit before you made the custom swimsuit, they will still wear the default Maxis swimsuit.
