Web Site Comments and Commentary
Sim Gedoehns

Livin' Luna
Sim Gedoehns is one of the most Livin' Luna sites we've yet seen, with extensive use of glass and metal throughout page after page of original housewares creations. If your taste runs toward ultramodern, you'll really enjoy this site.

Presented in German and English; hosted in Germany.

Simharbor Simharbor has a very large selection of attractively designed lots for your sims. The emphasis is on home lots but you will also find some lots for the public areas in all the expansion packs from Hot Date through Makin' Magic. Don't miss the boat house in the section for Unique and Themed Houses.

The selection also includes some unique walls and floors to decorate the homes. One of the more clever items is a brick wall that shows the pattern of an outdoor spotlight shining on the wall. Each lot is presented with a complete shopping list.

Astoundingly outstanding webcraft -- clean, attractive, and very easy to navigate. Illustrations are taken from The Sims 2, hinting at promise of great things to come.

Operates a well-crafted Invision Power Board, the Simharbor Forums.

Hosted on Homestead.

Sim Haven

Sim Haven appears to have been caught in the Homestead crunch. Our original review follows. Offers a large collection of houses complete with families. Great FAQ, especially for new players. Last update was in May 2001. Hosted on Homestead.
Warning: Some pages have background music.

Pasiphae says, "This is totally off-topic, but considering my namesake I have to confess that I find myself intrigued by Angie's handle, 'cowloverssimgirl'. Mom insists that I was named after the moon, Pasiphae, and she only learned about the character from Greek mythology after I was born. That's her story and she's sticking to it!"

Sim Homes
AKA Emma's Sim Homes
Nothing here but the start of laying out a web site. We don't know if the site is rebuilding or has been abandoned. If you know, please tell us about it in the Moon Sims Yahoo Group.

9 Sep 01: Furnished houses with families living in them. Some adult female skins. Hosted on Geocities.

Similarity Sims

NEW URL! We've updated the URL for Similarity Sims. It was a small but important change -- just replace "co" with "me" in the address.

As you page through the hundreds of downloads from Lynda De La Mar's Similarity Sims you will find sets of furniture and furnishings, in just about every color you can want, for every room in the house. The site features variations on creations from sites all around the Sims community. Among the coordinated walls and floors you will find some adventurous and whimsical designs to add a bit more excitement to your sims' homes.

Also visit the Similarity Sims Egroup on Yahoo for more adventure and some fun downloads.

Originally driven from the net by the bandwidth blues, Similarity Sims reopened on SimsHost on December 10, 2002, and is still going strong today.

This is one of more than sixty great Sims sites hosted by SimsHost. You'll want to subscribe to SimsHost so you can download the goodies. Similitude "Form over function. Always!" Moved from Homestead to AOL.

Pasiphae says, "That's it? That's all you have to say about Similtude??"
Sim Kitten
It says here: "Sim Kitten is closed due to being pulled from my host. Sim Kitten is merging with Dr Pixel's Charecters to be come The Blarney Stone. (See page 13.) Now Open.
"Cheers, ~Tigeress~"

Once hosted The Simstones, but The Simstones have been removed from the web.

simlily Agent Dawson's simlily hosts a stunning collection of stylish clothing for women, boys, and girls. The "themes" section features period dresses from the movie Titanic. The styles emphasize attention to subtle details and some complex accessories for an extra touch of realism.

Simlings Lots of interesting notes about The Sims. No downloads.
Sim Links (Serene) Clothes and faces for adult females, with carefully crafted original clothing styles. Some objects. Moved from Homestead to Geocities in July 2001.

Carla says, "Stylish, without being weird."

Caddy says, "Will the last site leaving Homestead please turn off the lights? OK, seriously, I really like Sim Links's style. It could use some back links, though."
Sim Love

Hosted Site
Several collections of objects in all categories. Some cartoon themes, and themes for all the major western holidays. Massive collection of artwork and decorative items. Some mild adult content; well marked as such. We have the honor to host SimLove here on Moon Sims.
Entry updated 13 Dec 01. Corrected URL. Oops.
Simlusions Small collection of skins. Some interesting recolors and some original objects made from photographs. In the Houses section, scroll to the right to find the download links. Simlusions was originally named Noel Sims. Hosted on

Simmandments Moved to Simfreaks. Look there for stuff created by Tiffany. The Simmandment site still has a page listing 12 amusing commandments for playing The Sims.
Entry updated 16 Sep 01
Sim Mayhem! Luckycat's objects and houses. Recolored furniture. Nice artwork. Several colors of lava lamps. Black medicine cabinet and black door. Some houses. Hosted on Tripod, so it has that odd user interface that requires two steps to download a zip file.
Simming it Up As of August 14, 2001, appears to be under construction. Got an ftp directory here. Hosted on Tripod.
SimNutz Lots and lots of links presented with a dramatic web noir flair. Links are nicely arranged in alphabetical order with little buttons to help you find what you're looking for. The previews section shows some of nicest finds on the net. Opened in December 2001(?).

a.k.a. Inmobiliaria Sim
This is a temporary location for Simobiliaria, who moved here from The Sims Resource. Disk space limitations prevent them from uploading their objects; however you can still view and download the houses and find links to the sites that provide some of the goodies you will need to outfit them.

Their specialty is beautiful houses. Available in both Inglés and Español. Creada en España por Nosotros Dos.

Sim Ones
a.k.a. Sim Chaotics
SimOnes changed their name to Sim Chaotics. Hosts the body meshes for the Big Girls project, which require a bit of extra work to install. Read the instrutions carefully.

Livin' Luna
Large catalog of original items that look great in the game. Famous for their beautiful water gardens. Made some significant break-throughs in designing objects for The Sims; notable for full-length glass walls. Excellent tutorials.

Pasiphae says, "You might not think of water gardens as Livin' Luna, but they are a key part of the basic theme for the Luna City cavern! Watercourses and water plants are a key part of the life support system humidifying and refreshing the air in our rather subtropical climate. Plants like these thrive year round here in the cavern."

Carla says, "Check out the original skins! Thanks to Simorphor your sims don't all have to look like they come from Iowa. Let's have a Bali-themed party; I want an excuse to wear a cheongsam!"

Caddy says, "Outstanding design for the web site! The pull-down quick-navigation menu is backed up with a thorough set of plain HTML links that enable you to get around with Javascript turned off. The server is very responsive, and you can tell that the simsmaster designed the site for the user rather than indulging in a demonstration of bleeding-edge web tricks. And NO FRAMES! Hooray!"
Simortality Simortality isn't open yet, but the webmasters of Hott Sims and Sim Fantasy are announcing that this blessed event will happen soon.

Previously Sim Decor
We haven't reviewed Natsy's Super Sim Shoppe yet, but we will soon! Recommended by Kate, webmistress of Parsimonious (page 7), so we know you'll like it!

SimOutlets Scroll WAY down the page to find the links to the 14 download pages.

Caddy says, "Be careful! The object files aren't zipped, so you will need to use yor web browsers 'download to disk' feature when you click on things. Lots of broken links and 'File not found' errors."
Sim Paradise Japon Splash page just provides some ads and a link to the real Sim Paradise Japon web site. Which in turn takes you to another page that links to a page that comes up blank due to HTML erros. Here's a direct link to the the menu and the main frame. The main page loads a background object, but otherwise comes up blank. Looks like a style sheet error. Maybe you will have better luck. Caddy! Help!

Caddy says, "Page info says this site was updated today (16 Sep 01), so you might have happened to visit while someone was working on it. Yes, it looks like extensive errors in HTML and style sheets. Try it again using MSIE; that might work."

SIMpatico As it says on the home page: Skins, walls, floors, houses, furniture. A very nice collection of clothing for all characters, notable for both orginiality of style and meticulous shading. None of us were able to download anything, though; every link to a zip file returned a 404 File Not Found error. Launches a spam gun that continuously opens new advertising windows on your screen.

Pasiphae says, "Darn. I can't tell you what's there until I can download something. It looks like simsmaster Lauren J. Harwood-Westgate is working on moving the site right now, so I'll keep checking."

Caddy says, "I had the best luck accessing SIMpatico in the early morning. Other times it seems like freehomepage gets jugged up and loses packets. If you can't get there directly, try sneaking in the maid's entrance at Keep up with finding and closing the advertising windows or they will stack up and crash your browser."

Carla says, "I like to visit SIMpatico just to read the descriptions of the outfits! Did you know that the Sim City High School's team is called the Flaming Flamingos?"
Sim Personal Shopper
Sim Personal Shopper closed the board and went off line permanently in May 2002 after one year of operation. Our original description follows.

Most of the links in the navigation column on Sim Personal Shopper point to parts of their EZBoard forum. We haven't visited the forum yet, so we will have to do some more looking around before we figure out what the site is really about.

(Read our caution about EZBoard's spamming on the page about the Moon Sims links list.)

They're running an interesting fund-raising campaign where those who donate $5 or more get some goodies created by several different Sims artists. Part of the proceeds go to the artists and part of them go to help pay for sites that are having difficulties with web hosting costs.

Simphony in Colors Need walls? Hundreds and hundreds of walls, all organized in categories and subcategories. Moved from The Sims Resource to their own domain at the end of December 2001.
Entry updated 2 Jan 02
Sim Playhouse Lots of objects, especially notable for zoo and barnyard animals. If your sims are just dying to have an elephant or a killer whale, this is the place. Water floor tile for the killer whale and dophins. Animals eat Simporphor's llama food. Coffee pot offers your sims a serious caffeine rush. Catering table and matching end table have an American flag motif. Hospital beds. Water walls, floors, bed, lights, door, dresser, and table for your aquatic sims. Realistically animated bubble-bath tubs. Animated babies that never grow up. Several pages of walls and floors. Also a few skins. Pops up lots of new windows for both the site and for advertising. Seems to be hosted partially on Geocities and partially on

Simple Sim Shop
Permanently off line. Redirects to another site.
Simple Yet Elegant 2 (Simply Living 2000)
Apparently permanently off line.
Simply Fabulous Not found on Homestead. Have they moved, or given up?
Simplosion You will find complete coordinated sets for every room in the house at Simplosion. There are innovative pieces in every set, but make sure you don't miss the glass-topped dining table in dining room set number 2. We also particularly enjoyed the ghosts in the Halloween set.

In addition to the furniture, Simplosion has a great collection of walls and floors, and some original lots for Vacation.

This is the least costly subscription site we have found, asking only $1.49 per month.

Entry updated 25 Nov 02
SIMply Gifts Lots and lots and lots of stuff, more than we could look at in the time available because we are eager to tell you that Simply Gifts is back! Many objects made from photographs. Hosted on AOL.

Entry updated 2 May 02
Sim-ply Irresistible Yup! We just can't resist Sim-ply Irresistible! The collection of women's skins is the star of the show, but you will also find some original walls and floors and some nice tapestries to grace those walls. With all those new walls, you'll need some new houses to wrap them around, and you'll find a few of those here, too!

Entry created 21 Sep 02
Simply Sims The front page is a diatribe about pay sites. That's as far as I got.

Pasiphae says, "This site might be of more interest to Sims community politicians than to fans of the game. I can only hope that none of this will be Livin' Luna."

Caddy says, "I dunno, Pas. Greg's not going to like this one."

Greg says, "Don't worry. It's not important to us, but it is important to some folks, so let's list Catherine's site now that we know about it."

Entry updated 1 Mar 02
Simply Simsville Fails to load.
Simply Walls Collection of two dozen really nice walls, some with matching floors. Grand reopening was on 27 Feb 2002, so maybe we don't need to apologize too profusely for not coming back to check since August when he found the bandwidth limit exceeded. Moved from '' to Homestead in August 2001. You will find more of Lin's work at The Sims Resource.
Entry updated 1 Mar 2002
Simpressive Simpressive lives up to its name, with an impressive collection of skins for all your characters. The furniture section contains only paintings, but very nice paintings. The Models section currently contains one short-haired adult female head mesh. In the Neighborhoods section, you can contribute your own house design to the site. Don't overlook the little menus at the top of the detailed sections that take you to multiple pages in that category.

Livin' Luna
Special themes are the hallmark for SIMPROVER. Don't miss the stunning pipe organ in the Angeltown Wedding Center and the pediatric equipment in the Old Town Medical Center. You will find some beautifully framed old masters along with a nice collection of vintage posters in the Paintings section.

The Skins section is just as innovative, with farm-themed dresses and jeans, but you won't be keeping them down on the farm for long if your female sims don the provocative evening gowns available here!

Pasiphae says, "I found Livin' Luna goodies on several pages of the site. Especially note the Glassy Dining Room set with its glass walls and metal-and-glass furnishings -- pure Livin' Luna!
